A Note from our Pastor

If you are considering a visit to North Apollo Church of God, let me put your mind at ease with a few things you might be wondering about.  Also, hopefully, these pages will assist you in learning about our beliefs and about the ministries, Bible studies, classes, services, connect groups, support groups, and just plain fun that occur throughout the week. What's it like at NACOG?  Well, we are most definitely a "come as you are" church.   Dress is a mixture of everything—some in suits and ties, many in jeans.  Just be yourself—and be comfortable!

We offer three-weekend Services. If you prefer a more Traditional Worship, try our Sunday morning Service at 9:00 am.  If you like a relaxed, upbeat atmosphere with all contemporary Christian music, then we offer two Services from which to choose. The first is on Saturday evenings at 6:00 pm, and the other is Sunday morning at 10:30 am.
The message is the same in each of the Services.  It is our desire to cover relevant issues with encouraging and practical biblical truths that can guide us through the best and worst times in life.  We offer Sunday School classes during our Sunday Worship services for all ages.   We also offer children classes during our Saturday evening Service.
Throughout the week we also offer small groups as well as,  support groups here at the church.  As you browse our website you will discover these, and many opportunities awaiting you.

I hope you'll visit North Apollo Church of God, and if you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us!

God Bless,
Bob Shallenberger
Senior Pastor

Frequently Asked Questions

Beliefs

Is NACOG non-denominational?
Yes, NACOG is non-denominational, but we are affiliated with the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana. For more about our history and beliefs, we encourage you to take the next "Connecting with NACOG" class.
What does NACOG believe?
Our beliefs are centered on Jesus Christ and His teachings. Crossings is a Christ-centered church, building Christ-centered people through worship, Bible study, friendship, and compassion. To learn more about our beliefs, vision, structure and ministry philosophy, we urge you to attend the "Welcome Gathering" with Pastor Bob. You may also refer to the "What We Believe" on this website.

New Visitor

How do I join or become a member?
Membership at NACOG is a matter of participation. There are no formal steps or paperwork involved. Feel free to reach out to one of our pastors to help answer any additional questions you may have.
What can we expect when we arrive as a first time visitor?
When we ask guests what their first experience at NACOG was like, they usually comment about how surprised they were that everyone was so friendly and how many people they already knew.  While that might not happen to you, we believe you’ll experience a great worship Service, be greeted by friendly people, grow closer to God, and find a Church family that is with you for life. Also, when you arrive you probably will be greeted by one of our parking lot greeters. They are not only responsible for helping people find a place to park, but to greet you and help you in any way they can.  Once inside the building you will be greeted with another set of greeters who will provide you with a bulletin containing all the announcements for the week.
Have questions? Ask any of our greeters, ushers, volunteers, and staff members! They would love to assist you.
By the way, we’ll never ask you to stand up or point you out as a new guest in one of our Services.
Will someone contact me after my first visit?
You will only be contacted if you request someone to do so.   We have "Get Connected" cards in the back of our sanctuary seats you, or you can give us as much or little information by using our online option.  If you signify that you would like a visit or a call, we will attempt to do so right away.   If you give us your email or mailing info, we will send you a welcome letter and also invite you to speak one on one with one of our pastors.
Welcome Gathering
We welcome all who are new to NACOG to participate in one of our welcome gatherings.   These are opportunities to meet some of the staff, learn about the congregation, and ask any questions you might have.   When an event is scheduled it will be listed in the upcoming events.
